The critical distinction in roof cleaning is the method: soft wash versus pressure washing. The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) specifically recommends soft washing — low-pressure application of sodium hypochlorite solution — as the correct method for asphalt shingle roof cleaning. High-pressure washing removes the ceramic granule coating from shingles, accelerating deterioration and potentially voiding manufacturer warranties. We do not high-pressure wash asphalt shingle roofs — the correct approach is chemistry, not pressure.

Our roof soft wash treatment uses a sodium hypochlorite solution delivered at low pressure via a dedicated soft wash pump — not a pressure washer. The application covers all affected shingle areas, including the valleys, edges, and north-facing slopes where growth is heaviest in Magnolia homes. Dwell time allows the chemistry to penetrate the biofilm and kill organisms at the root.
